UNIVERSAL TRAVEL PASS
Universal Travel Pass are the new passes for the people travelling in this time of difficulty of the covid-19 pandemic.
Due to the pandemic, there were a lot of restrictions imposed on travelling. These restrictions on travelling caused great difficulty to the people travelling for work. So, to make the life of the people easy and safe, the Universal Travel Pass with a QR code was launched by the Maharashtra Government and later adopted by the Indian Government.
Universal Travel Pass is the pass to a safe journey without any worries launched by the Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority in association with the Indian Railways to allow people to travel easily. This pass makes it possible for the people to use the public transport and get entry to public places like railways, offices, airports, etc.
Who can and when to apply for the Universal Travel Pass
Anyone fully vaccinated against COVID-19 only after 14 days of the 2nd dose of COVID-19 vaccine an apply for the pass
What are the degrees of the pass?
The Maharashtra Government planned to issue the Universal Travel Pass in five degrees as per the state government’s unlock levels. The pass with Degree 5 came with no travel restrictions, while the Degree 1 pass holders can travel only during the level 1 unlock plan of the Maharashtra Government.
It is of three categories medical, utility, and education for people working in these essential fields.
This travel pass is not only restricted to the people of Maharashtra. Even the people who are travelling to Maharashtra are assigned the Pass with level 5 allowing travel without restrictions. But it is advisable to carry domestic travel insurance to stay financially protected against any problems during the trip.
Objectives of Universal Travel Pass
This pass was started by the government for the following reasons:
- To make people travel safely in the covid 19 situation.
- There are 3 categories of people who can carry it, and through it the government wants to make all the basic facilities like medical, education, and utilitarian available to the people.
- It has enabled the people to change from train to rickshaw.
- One can get UTP via QR code.
- Universal Travel Pass can make your travel to other states easy.
